How do you take PrEP?

Option 1: Daily use
This is the simplest option: you take one tablet every day at the same time.

Option 2: Around sex
With this option, you only take PrEP around the time you have sex, following this schedule:
 

• Two tablets 2 to 24 hours before sex.
• One tablet 24 hours after the first dose.
• One tablet 48 hours after the first dose.

If you have sex on several days in a row, keep taking PrEP every day and only stop two days (48 hours) after the last sexual contact.
 

If you start PrEP through ZIZ, you always use it daily for the first month. After your check-up appointment at one month, you can decide together with the nurse which option works best for you.
